Level 3 - Process Engineer (Senior Level)

Summary:

The Senior Process Engineer (Level 3) is responsible for leading complex process engineering initiatives and driving strategic process improvements across the organization. This role requires advanced technical expertise, leadership, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes. The Level 3 Process Engineer will mentor junior engineers and may oversee large-scale projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Direct and oversee large process improvement projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.
  • Drive initiatives that increase process efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on complex process engineering issues, providing guidance and technical leadership.
  • Perform advanced process simulations, modeling, and optimization techniques.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement changes to manufacturing processes, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
  • Conduct failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) and lead root cause investigations for complex process failures.
  • Develop and implement advanced process control strategies.
  • Design and validate experiments to optimize process parameters.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term strategic process improvements.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers (Level 1 & Level 2 Process Engineers).
  • Support multiple facilities: Alsip plant, Austin warehouse, and Wood street plant with process improvements and capital projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Expertise in process optimization, control systems, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Proven experience leading large, cross-functional projects and teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to lead complex problem-solving initiatives.
  • Proficiency with process improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, or SPC.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse teams.

Ability to work effectively both alone and with others to develop new concepts and solve technical problems

  • Understands the importance of safety in operations; must always maintain a safety mindset

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in process engineering or a related manufacturing environment.

Compensation: $87k to $110k/year - commensurate on experience
