The Quality Manufacturing Engineer (QME) is responsible for the generation of a strategic plan to improve the business processes and increase production output. The QME address issues and concerns, performing corrective measures as needed, and is responsible for the creation of documentation that reports issues and errors relating to the production process with efforts placed to find a solution. The QME helps create the company's quality standards and testing systems to reflect efficiency, reliability, and performance. The QME has the essential responsibility of conducting regular inspections to maintain a safe and efficient work environment for everyone.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe environment for all employees.
  • Working with all KPM departments as a catalyst for change management and improvement in performance/quality.
  • Establish and achieve quality assurance operational objectives by:
    • Developing quality standards and protocols for quality assurance and testing;
    • Implementing standard operating procedures;
    • Developing inspection methods to monitor quality metrics;
    • Identifying and resolving problems utilizing applicable continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Develop a corrective and preventative action system to initiate corrective/preventive actions; investigate customer complaints; and collaborate with manufacturing on establishing or improving training.
  • Manage manufacturing engineering activities related to problem analysis, process improvement, design, layout, methods, and trouble shooting in support of equipment and processes.
  • Set customer service standards that include performing failure analysis and writing corrective action reports.
  • Effectively communicate across KPM to promote a quality-centric customer-first continuous improvement culture.
  • Manage cross-functional quality/continuous improvement projects identified and agreed to by KPM leadership team.
  • Initiate, evaluate, and implement solutions to design and production problems, as well as coordinating design changes and improvements necessary to improve manufacturing.
  • Follow up on quality defects and implement corrective action.
  • Record, analyze, and distribute statistical information.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as directed.
  • 5% travel required for company meetings, training, and transformation projects.
  • Handle all MRB (Material Review Board) coordination.
